Betty J. Jaymes

Betty Jane Jaymes, 88, Croghan Pike, Shade Gap, PA died Thursday afternoon, February 22, 2018 at her home in Dublin Township, Huntingdon County.

Born November 26, 1929 at Shade Gap, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Alda (Murphy) Snyder.

She was married to Richard M. Jaymes on June 29, 1951 at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.  Mr. Jaymes preceded in death on April 10, 2013.

Mrs. Jaymes is survived by three children: Melody J. Miller and husband Allen, and Von R. Jaymes and wife Stephanie, both of Carlisle, PA and Brian K. Jaymes and wife Nancy, Shirleysburg, PA.  An infant son Gerald Lee is deceased.

There are six grandchildren: Sherie Higgins, Bryon Jaymes, Clayton Jaymes, Nathaniel Jaymes, Cristyn Norris, and Daren Jaymes along with six great grandchildren: Alicia Higgins, Andrew Higgins, Jakobie Norris, Liam Norris, Jolene Norris and Aubrielle Jaymes.

A sister Shirley Jenkins survives of Orbisonia.

Mrs. Jaymes was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Burnt Cabins, PA. In addition, she belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shade Gap Area Fire Company and Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 280, Mount Union, PA.

She was a homemaker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Joe Barrett officiating.  Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Burnt Cabins, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6—8:00 PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
