Paul K. Minor

Paul Keith Minor was born in Washington, DC on August 28, 1965 to Paul A. Minor, III and the late Marguerite Edmondson Minor.

A music genius, Paul was a master engineer, producer, writer and composer. His first major job assignment was with Americas Most Wanted (Michael Joseph Productions) where he was assigned to keyboards and productions.  He handled the engineering in the control room, the drum machine, as well as software programming.  Paul’s music collaborations extended far and wide. He worked with the legendary Whispers on the productions of songs like “I Wanna Know Your Name” that peaked at 24th in its first week of sales on Billboard charts, which was a first for the group.  Following that, Paul was the Head of Music Production and Programming for Earth, Wind & Fire’s single “Fill You Up.”  Paul received many Grammy nominations for his collaborative works.  He received a Gold Disc from Fuji Pacific Music Inc. to commemorate the sales of over 100,000 copies of the album, “Avatar/Earth, Wind & Fire,” in Japan.

Paul was able to solve mechanical and technical issues that no one else could fathom.  Musicians from the West Coast and other areas would call Paul in the middle of the night with problems they could not resolve.  Paul, with his ingenious mind, would guide them through the process of resolution.  His expertise was unmatched.

Paul also taught music engineering and production classes in the public schools of Montgomery County, MD and other aspiring private students.  Paul was dedicated to his work and wanted others to share in his skills as well as the rewards of music and its ability to take you many places.

Paul leaves to remember, his father, Paul A. Minor, III and his step-mother, Michelle H. Minor; five uncles, Joseph and Zachary Minor, Vincent, Warren and Julius Edmondson; two aunts, Cecelia M. Bakare and Ann P. Rakotomalala, and a host of cousins and other family and friends.

Interment - Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf (maps/directions)
