Zambrano Caracost, Lucia Obituary

Lucia Zambrano Caracost of Centreville, VA. slipped from us to heaven surrounded by the pure love of her family on September 25. Lucia battled Breast Cancer for almost 6 six years with an inner power and grace that was an inspiration to all of her friends and family. We have no answers for why God wanted her back into his kingdom but our faith gives us peace that she is in heaven with no pain or suffering in a way we can not imagine.

Lucia leaves behind her devoted husband George and her two beautiful children Christopher and Nicole, her parents Ignacio and Guadalupe Zambrano, three brothers, one sister and seven nieces.

Lucia was a former diplomat and lawyer working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Government of Ecuador and posted in Washington, DC, a career she left behind willingly to marry, raise her children and create a beautiful loving home for her family. She was born in Quito, Ecuador but has resided in the US since 1994, becoming a US citizen in the process of which she was intensely proud of.

We miss her beyond description and wait for the time that we will be with her again. May God Bless our Lucia.
