Samuel H. Witters, A.K.A. "SUPERMAN"

Sam Witters, 63, Cooks Road, Cassville, PA went to be with the Lord May 17, 2015. Sam passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born on Sept. 10th 1951 in Huntingdon County. He was the son of the late Gerald Robert Witters and Emma (Greenland) Witters who resides in Cassville. He was united in marriage to Brenda Stapleton on July 20th 1979, who resides at their home place. He is also survived by 5 children, Holli Jo Wilkins of Cooks, Pa Traci Ann Morrow and husband John of Robertsdale, PA, Susie Marie Park of Cassville, PA and husband Adam, Samantha Ann Witters of Altoona, PA and Robert Charles Witters of Cassville, PA and wife Angie. He also had very special young men in his life that they consider their sons also, Eric Raley, Doug Beard, Jason Hall, and Dusty Anderson. He had two sisters whom he loved and admired very much, Marie Brown and husband Stewart of Petersburg and Deb Snyder and husband Dave of Huntingdon. He also has a very special aunt, Mary Didyk.

He was also fortunate to have 15 grandchildren.

Sam attended Crossview Missional Church at Saltillo, PA and loved his church family for their friendship, love and support.

He formally worked for Henkels and McCoy of York, PA which he was a supervisor for 25 years before working for DQE Communications as a supervisor of Pittsburgh, PA for 5 years before becoming ill. He made many good friends at both places of work and spoke of them fondly.

Sam enjoyed working alongside his son Bobby on their race car which gave him much pleasure. He enjoyed hunting deer, both bow hunting and rifle. He loved living on his and his wife's farm. He loved working on the equipment and helping with taking care of their cows. He enjoyed life with a Zest!

His pride and joy was his grandchildren. He enjoyed their ballgames and just watching them play on the farm. They gave him the nickname "Superman" because he fought so hard and struggled so long to be here as long as he could with all his family. He beat the odds so many times but chose in the end when it was time to let go.

Sam and his wife always believed in the Quality of Life. This was an awesome Gift God have given them.
