Michael Matthew Gordon Williams, a native Washingtonian, was born on November 19, 1976 to proud parents: the late Michael Dozier and Joanne Williams (James Johnson) at the George Washington University Hospital Center in Washington, DC.  

As an adolescent, Michael attended District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) and graduated in the Class of 1994 from the Frank W. Ballou Senior High School located in the Ward 8 Quadrant of our Nation’s Capital. As a teenager, Michael participated as a Young Marine in the Marine Corps League of the District of Columbia and was a phenomenal player for the Ballou Knights Football Team.   

Michael was known to many of his close family members and friends by various names to include; Troy (family), Big Mike, Big Dunk, and Bruh-Bruh. Michael was a gentle giant and whomever he came in contact with admired and loved his personality and spirit.  

Michael was a devout fan of the Washington Redskins. In his professional career, Michael worked as a Retail Store Manager for many corporations like CVS Pharmacy, Walmart and Rite Aid Pharmacy.  

Michael “Big Mike” Williams will be remembered for his intoxicating laugh, his willingness to always give, his humility, and his undying love for his children. Michael was a loving son, a devoted father, a caring brother, an admirable uncle, a special friend, but most importantly, he was a SAVED Man of God.  Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on Mother’s Day 2012, Sunday, May 13, 2012.

On Wednesday, August 21, 2013; Michael Matthew Gordon Williams peacefully departed this life and earned his eternal life reward by joining the Heavenly Army of The Lord.  

Michael was preceded in death by his loving father, Michael Dozier.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy: his loving children, Jordyn, Justin, D’Mitri, and Kai Williams; his loving mother, Joanne Williams (James); his devoted grandmother, Thelma Williams; his siblings, Toiya, Sofine, Kashyra (Skinny)Williams; his nieces and nephews; his dearest cousin, Anthony (Hooks) Hooker; his loving fiancé, Sharronne Harris; his extended “Wingate” and Galveston Place (GP) family, and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and countless friends. Our beloved Michael will be missed tremendously but will live on in our hearts forever.
