Myrtle E. Wible

Myrtle Emma Wible, 95, Bradnick Farm Lane, McConnellsburg, PA died at 1:10 AM, Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Born December 10, 1919 at Woodvale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Herbert and Emma Laura (McCoy) Taylor, Sr. 

She was married to James Porter Wible on October 30, 1937 at Hagerstown, MD.  Mr. Wible preceded in death on September 9, 1947.  Mrs. Wible met her longtime companion Ellsworth Keefer in 1953.  He preceded in death April 25, 1997. 

Mrs. Wible is survived by the following children:  James Wible and wife Gloria, Mays Landing, NJ;  Joseph Wible, Sr. and wife Dorothy, Chambersburg, PA;  Mary Wible Souders, Harrisburg, PA;  Lucille Wible Cowan Horst and John Wible, Sr., both of Chambersburg;  Hank William Keefer, Somerset, PA and Debra Kay Keefer Bookwalter, McConnellsburg.

There are 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

The last surviving member of her family, Mrs. Wible was preceded in death by five brothers and eight sisters:  Charles McCoy, Mary Wright, Olive Ramsey, George Taylor, Isabel Dixon, Mabel Snyder, Elsie Taylor, Dorothy Wilson, Alice N. Taylor, Clarence Taylor, Jr., Harold Glover Taylor, Merle Taylor and Helen Barnett. 

Mrs. Wible was of the Protestant Faith.

During World War II, she worked at Letterkenny Army Depot and later at H. J. Heinz Co., both of Chambersburg.  She later owned and operated Myrtle’s Beauty Salon and then an antique shop at  Fort Littleton, PA for many years.  She was last employed as a secretary at the Fulton County Housing Authority.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA with Pastor Richard Bernhard officiating.  Interment will be at Clear Ridge Cemetery, Hustontown, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6—8:00 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
