Gregory A. Werner

Gregory Alan Werner, 41, Hawn’s Bridge Road, Huntingdon, PA died Monday, May 15, 2017 at Cassville, PA.

Born March 4, 1976 at Huntingdon, he was the son of Robert G. and Jacqueline (Weller) Werner.

He was married to Tonya Mitchell on November 1, 2003.  His wife survives at home.

Mr. Werner is survived by his parents of Newton Hamilton, PA and a son Brayden Arthur Werner who lives at home.

He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: Edward Werner and wife Della, Mapleton Depot, PA; Penny Imler and husband Dale, Alexandria, PA; Robert G. Werner, Jr. Huntingdon; and Gini Werner, Mapleton Depot, PA.

Mr. Werner was a member of the Trough Creek United Methodist Church, Todd, PA.

A self employed building subcontractor, he operated Werner’s Building and Remodeling, Huntingdon, PA.  He was a 1994 graduate of Mount Union High School and a 1996 graduate of Johnson Technology, Scranton, PA.  He also completed numerous EMT courses.

Mr. Werner was the Deputy Director of EMA (Emergency Management Agency) for Huntingdon County.

He was an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and served with the Robertsdale Ambulance Company, the Trough Creek Valley Volunteer Fire Company where he was the Fire Police Captain and Three Springs Fire Company.  

Mr. Werner was the founder of the Raystown Area Search and Rescue Team.  He also was an EMT class instructor.

He was a member of Mount Hor IOOF Lodge #736, Cassville, PA.  

He loved spending time with his son and family, enjoyed fishing and was an active volunteer at the Creation Festival at the Agape Farm in Shirley Township.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, PA with Pastor Todd Christine officiating.  Interment will be at Bowman’s Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton Depot, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6—9:00 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

The Trough Creek Volunteer Fire Company will hold a memorial service at the funeral home at 8:30 PM Thursday and Mt. Hor IOOF lodge will hold a memorial service at the funeral home at 8:45 PM Thursday.
