Jacqueline Wallace Brown
November 25, 1954 - April 20, 2012
Jacqueline Lavern Wallace–Brown was born November 25, 1954, to George D. Wallace (deceased) and Eloise Wallace in Edgefield, South Carolina. She was the 7th of 10 children. At the age of 8 months the family relocated to Washington, DC. Jackie had a very fun and exciting childhood with her sisters and cousins. One who was very dear to her was her sister Delores.
Jackie received her education in the DC Public School system. In 1984 she gave her life to Christ and became an active member at the Holy Temple Church of Christ. New Members Usher Board and Prison & Community Outreach ministries are just a few that she was called to serve on. So many people were drawn to Jackie’s loving spirit. Humbled, yet strong, she had an evangelistic heart. Jackie loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Twenty years ago, she married the love of her life, Ruther Brown.
The sudden passing of Jackie has taken a piece of our hearts, especially her children. She preceded in death her husband Ruther Brown; her sisters Carolyn (Jean) Lipford and Diane Wallace, and three brothers Bernard, George and Ronnie Wallace. She leaves to mourn her loving mother Eloise Wallace, her 3 children: Catrina Cook – Gallion (Jeffery); Ronald Cook (LaWane); Natasha Gillespie – Cherry (James). 10 grandchildren: Marquia, Paul, Paulchee’, Ershula, Amara, Micah, Amari, Alhajie, Anyia, and James. 3 great-grands, Jeramie, Ameia, and Madison. 2 sisters: Katherine and Delores Wallace. 2 brothers: Kenneth Wallace and Michael Anderson. 8 brother-in-laws and 4 sister-in-laws. She also leaves two close friends Ray and Brenda and a host of many relatives and friends.
