Kevin S. K. Wada, 45, of West Hollywood, California unexpectedly passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Washington, D.C.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 28, 1967, Kevin graduated from Iolani High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Following graduation from Baylor, Kevin moved to Washington, D.C. where he joined the United States Marine Corps. Kevin served in the Corps from 1994 to 1998 and was honorably discharged with the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He continued to serve in the Reserves and separated from the Marine Corps as a Captain. Following his service to his nation, Kevin worked for various defense corporations. He moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue his career as an information technology auditor, where he worked for a number of firms, including Warner Brothers. Kevin recently received his writers' certificate from the University of California, Los Angeles as he pursued his dream of becoming a screenwriter.
Survivors include Hime, his Shiba Inu, mother, Aileen Wada, father, Stanley Wada, step-mother, Adele Wada, and sisters, Debra Wada, Geri Wemhoff, Merri Wada Tanji, and Terri Wada, and brothers, Keith and Kurt Wada. His nieces Tobie Wada and Leilani Stuck, and nephews, Tyler Spencer and Matthew Wada.
A celebration of Kevin's life will take place on Saturday, February 16th at the Hilton Anaheim Hotel in California at 6 p.m. Funeral services to follow in Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday, February 23rd at Hosoi Garden Mortuary at 4 p.m.
