Γ’€‹Richard S. Vanicek, 84 of Dingmans Ferry, PA passed away March 20, 2015 at Valley View Care Center, Newton, NJ. He was a retired police officer with 26 years of service with the N. Bergan Police Department. Richard was past President for the North Bergen PBA, a U.S. Airforce veteran serving from 1948 to 1952, and a member of the North Bergen VFW Post # 2648.

 

 Γ’€‹The son of the late Stephen and Pauline (Biskupic) Vanicek he was born February 5, 1931 in Guttenburg, NJ. He was married to the late Joan (Lippencott) Vanicek. 

 

Γ’€‹Survivors include seven children: Carol S. Vanicek of Brick, NJ, Paulette Magyar of Union, NJ, Stephen Vanicek of Edison, NJ, Stephanie Moon of N. Bergen, NJ, Richard Vanicek, Jr. of Sussex, NJ, Susan Arnold of Williamsburg, NC, Michael Vanicek of Hamberg, NJ; two sisters Eleanor Farber of Dingmans Ferry, Pa, Pauline Johnson of Toms River, NJ; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

 

Γ’€‹Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA on March 24, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.

 

Γ’€‹A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent dePaul Church, Milford, PA on March 25, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul Mullen officiating. Burial will follow in Delaware Cemetery, Dingmans Ferry, PA with military honors.
