Mr. John Triano, formerly of Kearny, died on Saturday with is family at his side. He was 93 and the last survivor of 21 siblings.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday in St. Stephen's Church in Kearny (map/directions) at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call in the Condon Funeral Home 684 Kearny Ave., Kearny (map/directions) on Tuesday from 4-8pm.
John had retired as manager of the A&P in Kearny many years ago. Prior to that he had managed the A&P stores in Jersey City and Hoboken. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII serving in Europe. John was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Stephen's and had been an usher there for 62 years. He was also a member of the Marconi Association in Kearny.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Josephine (Sanfilippo); his children Dennis and his wife, Patty Triano and Robert and his wife, Diane Triano. Also surviving are his grandchildren Amy, Rebecca and Jason, Robert and Michelle, Nicole and A.J., and Michael.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the St. Stephen's Sanctuary Fund in John's memory. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home.
