Thompson, Jr., Walter Obituary

Passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, August 29, 2012.

 

Affectionately known as “Juney” (Junior) and “T-Boy” or “T” by his family and friends, he leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Shirley; daughter, Arlethia; son, Rodney and grandson, Isaiah.

He was a veteran (paratrooper) of the United States Army and Retiree of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing where he received many honors and awards for recognition of outstanding and dedicated service to the Department.

He is also survived by his aunt, Ida Mae Rowe, brothers Raymond, Larry and Stanley, sister-in-laws and a host of family and friends.

A homegoing service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. (viewing) and 10:30 a.m. (service) at the Bishop’s Chapel of Evangel Cathedral, 13901 Central Avenue, Upper Marlboro (map/directions). Interment will follow at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD (map/directions). He will be remembered for his generosity and kind spirit.
