Loretta J. Strait

Loretta J. Strait, 66, Sheepskin Hollow Road, Fort Littleton, PA passed away Tuesday morning, February 14, 2017 at Chambersburg Hospital after battling an extended illness.

Born August 1, 1950 in Meadow Gap, Huntingdon County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Furman and Mary (Park) Long.  She was married to Walter Marshall Strait on August 23, 1969.  Mr. Strait preceded in death on September 3, 1991.

Three children survive: Richard Strait and fiancé Dawn Hill, Needmore, PA; Christina Zeger and husband Greg, Hustontown, PA and Amy Gossert and husband John, McConnellsburg, PA.

There are three grandchildren: Dalton and Jordan Zeger and Isabelle Gossert.

Four sisters; Erma Brown, Jane Ramsey, Vera Brown and Linda McLucas and a brother Dale Long also survive.

Two sisters, Freda Fultz and Marion Snook and four brothers, Reed, Robert, Carl and Virl Long are deceased.

Mrs. Strait was a member of the Knobsville Church of the Brethren.

For the last 15 years, Mrs. Strait worked at Walmart at Chambersburg.  She was previously employed at Cutchall’s, Fort Littleton, PA, Pleasant Valley Restaurant, Sunny Ridge Restaurant, and Baker’s Diner where she met her future husband as a teen.

She was a former member of the Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.

She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 17, 2017 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA with Pastor Richard Bernhard officiating.  Interment will be at Hustontown Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 2—8:00 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
