Steele, Leanna Obituary

Leanna Margaret Wolfe Steele went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 1, 2014. Because of her faith in Jesus' payment for her sins, she is now fully enjoying all the joys of heaven!

Leanna was born in Port Jervis, NY on October 19, 1927, the eldest child of Clinton and Margaret Wolfe. Except for four years; she lived her entire life in the Milford area. On August 20, 1950, Leanna and Douglas H. Steele, who predeceased her, were married in Milford.

Leanna dearly loved all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She lavished them with love and encouragement, and fervently prayed for them. She treasured family time spent with her sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews, and family stories usually ended with gales of laughter!

Fully trusting God to work in all situations, Leanna prayed constantly for all and about all: family, friends: old and new, our country, decisions, world events, big things and small things…she prayed!

She also served God and others throughout the years as a Sunday School teacher, youth group leader, made meals for people in her home and took meals to them. She was an excellent homemaker and did extensive sewing, canning, and knitting.

She was interested in people and people were drawn to her kind heart and wise encouraging words. She was a friend to all. All that she did was motivated by her love for the Lord and her desire for God’s best in other's lives.

Visitation for Leanna will be at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA, on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial praise celebration will be held at Milford Bible Church, 110 Foxcroft Dr., Milford, PA on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Leanna wished for donations to be made to Samaritan's Purse, an international aid organization, or Women at Risk International, a rescue organization for trafficked women and children around the world.
