Bishop James Edward Steadman, III of Washington, D.C. passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012.

He is survived by his devoted wife, first lady Beverly T. Steadman; three children, Tawana, Teneka, and Kendrick; three grandchildren.  He is also survived by devoted parents, James E. Steadman, Jr. and Veronica Steadman-Rowe; five siblings, a host of other relatives and friends.

He will lie in state on Friday, December 7 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with celebrations to follow at 7:30 p.m. at Greater Tyson Temple, 3024 Massachusetts Ave SE, Washington, D.C. (map/directions)

Viewing also on Saturday, December 8 at 9 a.m. until service at 10:00 a.m. at Free Gospel Church, 4703 Marlboro Pike, Capitol Heights, MD (map/directions).  Bishop Ralph Green, Pastor.  Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery (map/directions).  Services entrusted to R.N. Horton Funeral Home.
