Ruth E. Snyder

Ruth Evelyn Snyder, 76, Blacklog Valley Road, Orbisonia, PA died at 11:15 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Pinnacle Health-Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA.

Born July 24, 1939 in Tell Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Irvin and Mary (Smith) Williams.  She was married to William E. Snyder on March 7, 1957.  Mr. Snyder survives at home.

A daughter, Marcia Smith and husband Bernard Smith, Jr., survive of Orbisonia.

There are four grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Smith, Jessica Smith, Nicole Bonsell and Wilson Smith along with six great grandchildren Tanner, Dakota, Lucas, Emma, Rhetta, and Oscar.

An infant son preceded in death.

Three brothers and one sister survive: Richard Williams, East Waterford, PA; Eugene Williams, Burnham, PA; Martha Yohn, Blairs Mills, PA; and Irvin Williams, Scotland, PA.  Two brothers, Thomas and William Williams, are deceased.

Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ, Spring Grove, PA.

She served as tax collector for Dublin Township for 40 years.  Also, she and her husband were co-owners of the former RNV Apparel, Shade Gap, PA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Robert Detwiler and Pastor Brian Smith officiating.  Interment will be at Nossville Cemetery, Blairs Mills, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.  

The family requests no flowers.  Memorial contributions should be made to the Nossville Cemetery Association, 14756 Reeder Road, Blairs Mills, PA  17213.
