Margaret Ann Singleton

Margaret Ann Singleton, 71, passed at Capital Caring Health Center in Hospice at Providence Hospital on January 26, 2021. Our community has sadly lost a long-standing pillar. Her contributions span the Washington Metropolitan region in the areas of Economic and Workforce Development. She is widely known for her key roles with the DC Chamber of Commerce and many other organizations that service our region.

Margaret attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Washington DC and was an active member in many community organizations including, The Girl Friends Inc.; Angel Investment Network; Walter Reed Local Redevelopment Authority and Community Advisory Group; Covenant House; Minority Business Development Agency; and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Council for Small Business Strategic Planning for Nonprofits.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Lucien Smith Sr.; daughter in law, Kelli Smith; grandson, Lucien Smith Jr; granddaughters Skylar Smith, and Micah Smith; brothers Darryl Blye and William Singleton, Jr; sister, Dorris Dellamy; uncle; John Robinson and his wife Shirley Robinson.
