Mary Simonet

Mary (Nastasi) Simonet, 89, of Milford, PA, originally of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 with her daughter, Nancie by her side. Having been cared for by the compassionate nurses and staff of Milford Senior Care for the past five years

The daughter of the late Matthew and Catherine (Annicchiarico) Nastasi she was born on October 15, 1925 in Newark, NJ.  She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Thomas “Augie” Simonet.

Survivors include her son Charles Simonet of Orange County, CA; three daughters Denise Mihalko of New Bern, NC, Laurette Simonet of Bridgewater, NJ, Nancie Simonet-Fouse of Milford, PA; six grandchildren Robert, Lauren, Morgane, Dustin, Danielle, and Sophia.

Mary will be remembered as a feisty lady who in her prime loved to cook and never let anyone leave her home with an empty stomach.

After her retirement from administrative work in Elizabeth, NJ she would be best remembered in Milford behind the cash register at the Waterwheel Café and local Rite-Aid.

A loving mother and grandmother, she always put the needs of others first. She will be missed by family, friends, fellow employees and caregivers.

Family will receive friends at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford Street, Milford, PA on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 4 to 6PM. A memorial service will be held at 6PM with Reverend Dr. Donald Drewett officiating.
