Shore, Maxine Obituary

Maxine E. Shore, 88, formerly of Pine Tree Village, Orbisonia, PA, and more recently of Elizabethtown, PA, went to be with her Lord on February 19, 2014 at the Masonic Home, Elizabethtown. She had been in failing health for several years.

Born June 1, 1925 in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Edna (Barron) Booher. She married Martin I. Shore on July 3, 1943. Mr. Shore preceded in death on February 28, 1991.

Primarily a homemaker, those who knew her well knew she had a passion for animals, especially her dogs and cats. She attended Jefferson School and the Rockhill Church of the Brethren. She was of the Christian Faith.

Mrs. Shore is survived by three sisters: Burnis Brown, a guest at Woodland Retirement Community, Orbisonia, PA; Sarah Grove a guest at the Masonic Home, Elizabethtown, PA; and Grace Gumbert, RD, Mount Union, PA. There are numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, three infant daughters, a brother Kenneth L. Booher and a sister Ruth A. House preceded in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Karen P. Willis officiating. Interment will be at Jordan Cemetery, Orbisonia, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
