Mary Ruth Schwartz, 86, of Cooper Lane, McConnellsburg, PA died at 8:30 AM, Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Born December 29, 1926, she was reared by Mr. and Mrs. Albert King.  She was married to Wayne H. “Pete” Schwartz on July 19, 1943.  Mr. Schwartz preceded in death on May 11, 2001.

Mrs. Schwartz is survived by a daughter: Joy J. (Murdock) Anderson and husband Ray, McConnellsburg along with two grandchildren:  Joseph Murdock, Carrollton, VA and Joan (Murdock) Mellott and husband Joseph, Mount Ayr Farm Lane, McConnellsburg.  There are three great grandchildren: Cassandra Sheffield, Chambersburg, PA and David Mellott and Leah Mellott, McConnellsburg.  

One sister and one brother are deceased.

Mrs. Schwartz had attended the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Harrisonville, PA.

During her life, she worked at several sewing factories and drove school bus.

A Past Worthy Matron and active member of the Eastern Star, Mrs. Schwartz was currently a member of Chapter #519, Order of the Eastern Star, McConnellsburg, PA.  Also, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Company.

She enjoyed camping and traveling to the “Chuck Wagon Races” on Labor Day Weekend at Clinton, Arkansas.  

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, June 10, 2013 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA (map/directions).  Interment will be at Clear Ridge Cemetery, Hustontown, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6—8:00 PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home at 8:00 PM, Sunday evening.
