Ryder, Glenna Obituary

Glenna passed away on Nov. 16, 2013 in Garden City, SC after a hard fought 15 year battle with cancer.

She was born to Glenn and H. Jane Collette on Feb. 5, 1937 in Port Jervis, NY.

She was married to Franklin Delano Ryder of Dingman’s Ferry, PA on October 8, 1955; who predeceased her in 2006.  She resided in Pike County until 2008, when she moved to South Carolina.

She is survived by her daughters Nadine Churchill, her husband Bruce of Garden City, SC and Collette Ryder of Washington, DC.  Her two grandsons and three great-grandchildren:  Aaron Churchill, his wife Kathleen and their children Cara and Drew of Matamoras, PA and Lance Churchill, his wife Jessica and their son Jackson of Derby, CT.  

She is further survived by a sister Bonnie Collette of Port Jervis, NY and two brothers: Gene Collette of Port Jervis, NY and Gary Collette of Matamoras, PA and many nieces and nephews.

Glenna spent over 25 years as Pike County Auditor.  She was a long-time committee member of the Pike County Republican Party representing Dingman’s Ferry.

Glenna had a great love for watching her family grow, music, the arts and jigsaw puzzles.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the American Cancer Society, or the Hospice Agency of your choice.

Viewing will be at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St, Milford PA on Wednesday Nov. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with services at the funeral home on Thursday Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Doug Miller officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Delaware Cemetery, Dingmans Ferry, PA.
