Fred D. Rogers

Fred D. Rogers, 78, McKendree Church Road, Three Springs, PA died at 9:38 PM, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at UPMC Altoona Hospital, Altoona, PA.

Born December 21, 1938 at Three Springs, he was the son of the late Albert and Ada (Painter) Rogers.  He was married to Shirley Moschgat on April 8, 1961.  Mrs. Rogers survives at home.

He is survived by four children; Mark Rogers and wife Diane, Rockhill Furnace, PA; Lori Ann Harmon and husband Jeff, Mount Union, PA; James Rogers and wife Katina, Meadow Gap, PA; and Brian Rogers, Meadow Gap, PA.

There are seven grandchildren: Matt Rogers, Jaime Cromwell, Huner Rogers, Kelsey Harmon, Brady Rogers, Blaine Rogers, and Brecken Rogers.

Also, there are two great-grandchildren: Aaden and Carri Cromwell.

A sister Vonnie Hockenberry survives of Three Springs.  Three brothers Joe, Leo and infant brother Orlando Rogers and two grandsons Dustin and Devon Rogers are deceased.

Mr. Rogers was a lifelong member of the McKendree Church, Three Springs.

He was a heavy equipment operator, last employed by Hempt Brothers, Camp Hill, PA.  He was a member of Steelworkers Union # 14723.

A 1958 graduate of Orbisonia High School, Mr. Rogers enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising Hereford cattle.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Alan Painter and Neels Ballas officiating. Interment will be made at Jordan Cemetery, RD, Orbisonia, PA.
