Riley, Lorraine Obituary
Lorraine D. Riley was born on February 1, 1953 to the late Ralph and Bessie Riley in Washington, DC. She peacefully departed this life on May 11, 2019, in Annapolis, MD. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Oden Lucas and Lawrence Riley.

“Rain” as she was affectionately known was educated through the DC public school system and went on to graduate from Western High School, where she received many honors for her excellence. She proceeded to attend Howard University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management. Lorraine later on returned to college to receive her PHD which she proudly earned after her numerous years of diligence that she exercised in her studies. Throughout her years Lorraine was employed with the Department of Health, the Department of Commerce, and the University of the District of Columbia.

In her spare time, she loved to play tennis, spend time on “Rainbow Lady,” her boat, relaxing, fishing, and crabbing. Lorraine also enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in her garden, and planting countless flowers and vegetables.

Rain was always a loving and caring person that didn’t hesitate to help others in anyway possible. Her lovingness and warmth towards the people that she surrounded herself with explains why she will be missed so dearly.

Lorraine leaves to rejoice in her memory two brothers, James and Wilmer Riley, three sisters, Bernice Smith, Geraldine Riley, and Margie Roseman, great nephew Joseph Wendell Moore III and great niece, Tiara Danae Dupee, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and acquaintances.
