R. Dale Rickabaugh, 91, Jacobs Road, Cassville, PA died at 5:50 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at J. C. Blair Hospital, Huntingdon, PA.

Born October 18, 1925 at Ardenheim, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Charles and Myrtle (Grissinger) Rickabaugh.  He was married to Betty A. Conner on November 22, 1946 at Saltillo, PA.  Mrs. Rickabaugh preceded in death on December 1, 2004.

Six children survive: Samuel D. Rickabaugh and wife Judith, Cassville; Edna R. Green and husband Ronald, Huntingdon, PA; John W. Rickabaugh and wife Kimberly, Chambersburg, PA; Susan M. Miller and husband Sam, Saxton, PA; Rita V. Miller and fiancé Chris Stull, James Creek, PA; and Scott Rickabaugh and wife Jody, Fort Loudon, PA along with a son-in-law Don Houck, Hancock, MD and a daughter- in- law Joy Rickabaugh, Philadelphia, PA.

A son Jesse and two daughters Linda A. Houck and Jane Rickabaugh are deceased.

There are 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.  Also, there are several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

A brother Glenn Rickabaugh, Hillsdale, MI and three sisters Lola Frohm, McConnellstown, PA, Doris Divens, Sebring, FL and Lois Brocovitch, Bel Air, MD also survive.

One brother Clair Rickabaugh is deceased.

Mr. Rickabaugh is also survived by a special friend Verda Yablonski, Todd, PA.

He was a member of the Beavertown Bible Church, Todd, PA.

A World War II veteran, Mr. Rickabaugh served from 1943-1946 with the US Army in Europe.  He was in the 63rd Infantry and served under General Patton.  He received the Purple Heart after being wounded in France in January 1944.  

He was a member of Madden-Wennick Post 518 American Legion and Cromwell Lodge #572, Free and Accepted Masons, both in Orbisonia.

Mr. Rickabaugh was an owner-operator truck driver and farmer.  He drove many years for Youngstown Cartage Company and later with Interstate Systems.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Beavertown Bible Church, 17758 New Fording Road, Todd, PA with Pastor James Thomas officiating.  Interment will be at Beavertown Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from 6—8:00 PM Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beavertown Bible Church.

Arrangements are by the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, PA.
