Peter Ricci, Jr., 79, of Front Royal, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 in his home after an extended illness.
A memorial service will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home (map/directions), conducted by Rev. Gary Heaton. Burial will be private.
Mr. Ricci was born March 31, 1933, in Front Royal, VA ,son of the late Peter and Beulah Ritenour Ricci. Pete served in the Army in Korea during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., the American Legion, and the Elks Lodge. He drove a truck for 50 years and for awhile was also known from here to Chicago as the “Lazy R”.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years Evelyn Payne Ricci of Front Royal; two daughters, Tammy Mosley of Warrenton, Cindy Neilson of Strasburg and husband Greg; two step-sons, Doug Payne of Fairfax and Glenn Payne of Front Royal; and a sister Betty Lutz, of Tampa, FL. He had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Tommy Ricci, Francis Ricci, and Billy Ricci.
