Thomas F. Parson

Thomas F. Parson, 87, of Blue River Lane, Mt. Union, PA, died Monday, July 6, 2015 at UPMC, Altoona, PA.

Born August 27, 1927 in Dublin Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, he was a son of the late Walter & Janet (Morrow) Parson. He was married to the former Emma S. Harshbarger on October 26, 1949. Mrs. Parson survives at their home.

Also surviving are three children, Darlene Gordon and her husband Eddie of Morristown, TN, Diane Bilger of RD, Mt. Union, PA and Danny Parson and his wife Ruth of Reedsville, PA, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.  He is also survived by two step grandchildren and one brother, Ronald Parson of Morristown, TN. One son in law, George Bilger, three brothers and four sisters, preceded in death.

Mr. Parson had attended the New Life Fellowship Church, Mt. Union, PA. He was employed as a truck driver for 32 years.

Mr. Parson was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.
    
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves.
    
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Mike Grove officiating. Interment will be made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, RD, Shade Gap, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
