O'Dea, Thomas Obituary

Milford, PA - Thomas E. “Poppi” O’Dea passed away at home with his family by his side, on October 14, 2016.

The son of the late Thomas J. and Jean M. (Parker) O’Dea, “Poppi” was born on December 9, 1926 in Paterson, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary O’Dea, his sister, Jean Capouet and niece, Pam Knoble. Survivors include a brother and a sister, four children, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

“Poppi” was a WWII Navy veteran serving in the Pacific and Korean War. He thoroughly enjoyed his experience on the Honor Flight of Hudson Valley in 2014. As a lover of American history, he founded Company E-15th NJ Volunteer Infantry, Sons of Veterans Civil War Reenactment Regiment and became a settler. “Poppi” was a lifetime member of the VFW and Marsh Kellogg American Legion Post. He loved sports and was Notre Dame’s number 1 fan.   Our “Poppi” was a loving, generous father, grandfather and great-grandfather with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by his family, friends and neighbors.

Private services will be arranged by the family. Final interment will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 10 AM at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
