Peter G. Nordhausen, 66, of Lehman Township, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, August 8, 2013, at home.
Born in New York City, New York, Mr. Nordhausen lived in Fredon Township for 15 years, then lived on a sailboat for seven years, and lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before moving to Lehman Township in 2003. He was United States Navy veteran, serving in Vietnam from May 14, 1968, to February 8, 1972. He served on submarine tenders, the USS Fulton, the USS Skylark and the USS Van Voorhis. A carpenter, Mr. Nordhausen worked for O.A. Peterson in Montclair before his retirement. He was a member of the Wounded Soldiers and Vietnam Veterans.
The son of the late George K. and Lillian (nee Bauer) Nordhausen, Mr. Nordhausen is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carole J. Nordhausen; his daughter, Julie A. Williams and husband, E. Kenneth, III, of the Kemah Lake section of Hampton Township; two grandchildren, Marley Balkau and E. Kenneth Williams, IV; and one sister, Dana Nordhausen, of New York City, New York.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at his daughter's and son-in-law's home, 13 Swan Path, in the Kemah Lake section of Hampton Township.
