September 22, 1941 - July 1, 2012
Maggie Marie Milbourne was born September 22, 1941 in Claiborne County, Mississippi to the late Bonnie and Charles P. Newsome. Maggie was called home early Sunday morning July 1, 2012.
Maggie grew up in First Church and rededicated her life back here where she knew as home. Maggie has been blessed with four wonderful loving girls. Her joy was fishing, having family fun, cooking and enjoying a good meal.
Maggie was dearly known as “Titta” by her siblings and “Sister” by her aunts and uncles. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Washington, DC and later worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for 23 years as a Psychology Tech. After her tenure in the medical field, her endeavors led her to work with Primerica Financial Services as an RVP. Maggie found her niche as an RVP and worked with Primerica until her transition on July 1, 2012. She was a fighter with tremendous courage and refused to allow sadness or pity to enter her battle. She showed stature and courage until the very end.
She leaves to cherish her memories, four loving daughters: Laketia Milbourne-Bonds, Anganette Douglas Gross, Trena Milbourne-Stringer, Bonita A. Jones, and two surrogate daughters: Jewel Beverly and Karla King; 10 siblings: Charles Newsome, Johnnie Newsome, Albert “Joe” Newsome, Arthur Newsome, John Newsome, Sherlie Newsome, Mary Newsome-Yancey, Deborah Newsome-Adams, Linda Simmons, and Carrance Newsome; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters in-laws, her church family and friends.
Maggie was a strong women. Our Heavenly Father let us have her for a while and has now called herhome. We love her and will miss dearly.
