Delores J. McCardell

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Delores Jane (Naugle) McCardell, 81, of 1000 Claremont Rd., Carlisle, PA.  Mrs. McCardell passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

Born on August 8, 1935 in South Mountain, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry William and Helen Lucy (Wagaman) Naugle.  She moved to the Shade Gap area with her husband George E. McCardell in 1953 where they made their home and raised seven children.

Delores was a homemaker and so enjoyed her home, caring for her plants and pets she had throughout the years.  She also enjoyed cooking and was an excellent baker.  She loved traveling, shopping, visiting her family and caring for her daughter, Julie.

She is survived by her children Ellen (McCardell) Weaver and husband Jack of Harrisburg, PA, George E. McCardell, Jr. and wife Kristie of Shade Gap, PA, Steven M. McCardell and wife Lisa of Boiling Springs, PA, Lori L. McCardell of Lebanon, PA, Julie A. McCardell of Camp Hill, PA, and Susan E. McCardell of Lewisberry, PA.  Two sisters, Leona Hartman, Chambersburg, PA, and Lillian Monn, South Mountain, PA.  Two brothers, Harold Naugle, South Mountain, PA and Harry Naugle, Fayetteville, PA.  She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Delores is preceded in death by her husband, George E. McCardell, son David M. McCardell, granddaughter Danielle D. Morgan, seven sisters, Miriam Gardenhour, Gladys Butler Kauffman, Myrtle Butler, Ruth Snively, Pansy Biaham, Charlotte Laughman and Genevieve Runk, Three brothers, Glenn Naugle, George Naugle and Carroll Naugle.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Dennis Hunsinger officiating. Interment will be made at Neelyton Pine Grove Cemetery, Neelyton, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home 7 - 9 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
