Charles G. Marlin

Charles George Marlin, 89, Hudson Street, Three Springs, PA died Wednesday evening, April 17, 2019 at his home.

Born May 6, 1929 at Chalk Hill, Fayette County, PA, he was the son of the late Joshua George and Iola Elizabeth (Whitfield) Marlin.  He was married to Mae M. Hoffman in August 1968.  Mrs. Marlin survives at home.

Mr. Marlin is survived by several children: Arlene Smith, Roaring Spring, PA; Louise Fisher and husband David, Newville, PA; Charles Marlin, Georgia; Jessie Marlin, Hustontown, PA; Randy Marlin, Three Springs; Florine Horton and husband Richard, Three Springs; Bonnie Newman and husband Dick, Waterfall, PA; and Shelby Croshaw and husband Jerry, Wrightstown, NJ.

A daughter Edna Marlin is deceased.

There are 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A sister Edith Mary Brookens, Roxbury, PA and two brothers Jacob L. Marlin, Bedford, PA and Joseph L. Marlin, Allentown, PA also survive.  

Mr. Marlin retired from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. after 30 years service.

He was a member of Moose Lodge # 223, Huntingdon, PA and formerly a member of the Broad Top American Legion.

He served with the US Army during World War II.

Mr. Marlin enjoyed attending flea markets and maintained a sizable tobacco can collection.  He also liked talking with his friends on the CB radio.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Immanuel Bible Church, 22054 Starr Road, Three Springs, PA with Pastor Steven Heaster officiating.  Interment will be at Cherry Grove Cemetery adjacent to the church.  Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
