Margie Shirley Mallory was granted her angel wings on May 16, 2012. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and love ones. She was the second born to the late Martha Barrett and Raleigh Farrow on December 3, 1946.
Her childhood life was spent in Richmond, Virginia where she attended Second Union Elementary and Central High School. She was then joined in union with James Mallory in 1962. Shortly after, she relocated to Maryland, to live with her Cousin Shirley and Cousin Lonnie.
She devoted her life to her family. While her passion was taking care of others. Her last years were pledged at the United States Soldiers and Airmen Home where she dedicated service to the elderly for over 17 years.
Margie was a very beautiful, independent and humble person. She had strong faith in God, and enjoyed the sounds of gospel music. Even though she didn’t have a church home, Margie gave her life to Christ before the end of her journey. She also enjoyed grilled foods, crabs and the sight of the air show.
Margie survived her parents, Martha Barrett and Raleigh Farrow. Many wonderful and cherished memories are left with her surviving brother, Stewart “Nelson” Farrow, her four children, Marjorie Mallory, Charles Mallory, Amanda Diggs(Marcellus), and Charolette Bynum- Eight Grandchildren Keon Johnson, Alisha Perrin, Alvonda Lipscomb, Sayvonne Coleman, Nakita Mallory, D’Andra Rosborough, Mark Gothard Jr., and Kevin Bynum- four great grandchildren Jamar Johnson, Taylor Johnson, AmanDre Payton and NaZion Mallory- Special friends Vivian Mack and Charles Bynum along with a host of many other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012. Viewing will be at 11 a.m. and the service will be at 12 noon at New Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church, 4417 Douglas St. N.E., Washington, DC (map/directions). Interment will be private. Services by Bianchi Funeral Service.
