Maher, Sr., Francis Obituary

Francis X. Maher, Sr. has entered into eternal peace on March 6, 2013 at his home in Shohola, PA.

Previously of Freeport, NY. He was 87. Son of the late Wm. Edgar Maher and Frances O'Donald. He was born on September 10, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Olive Allspach and his son Daniel. Frank was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in WW II. He was a butcher for the A & P in Jamaica, NY for 42 years.

He is survived by his sisters Dorothy Davey, Joan Robinson, Margaret Duffney and his brother John Maher.

Frank was the proud father of Francis X. (Marilyn) Maher, Jr., Dale (Ann) Mazzie, Jill (John) Christ, Beth (Ken) Sapan, Lisa (John) Von Salzen and Jennifer (Tom) Ganuncio and daughter in law, Linda Maher.
 
Even prouder of his grandchildren, Kristen, Frank III, Bill, Kathy, Dan, Danielle, Remo, Michael, Ann-marie, Mia, Sean, Kali, Shayne, Rebecca, Richie, Christopher, Steven and Timmy.
 
Proudest of his twenty-five great grandchildren, Lauren, Nicole, Paul, Brianna, Madison, Ava, Kaitlyn, Mikaela, Pamela, Olivia, Alexander, Mackenzie, Emily, Gabriella, Joseph, Jake, Justin, Michael, Julie, Sean, Maci, Hailey, Michael, Wyatt and Isabella.

Friends may call on Sunday March 10, 2013 at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St. Milford, PA (map/directions) from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday March 11, 2013 at  11 am at St. Patrick’s Church, 111 E. High St. Milford, PA (map/directions).  Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY on March 12, 2013 at 11:30 am.
