Maddox, Ronald Obituary

Ronald Patrick Maddox, Age 50, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at his home in Herndon, Virginia, where he lived with his parents, Ronald and Betty Maddox.

A memorial service will be conducted on 11 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax on 2709 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton, VA. A burial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon September 16, at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal, VA.

Ronald was born in Washington, DC, on January 18, 1964. He grew up in Northern Virginia in a family of 8 children. He loved animals and enjoyed sports. He was an avid Redskins fan and a talented athlete, especially enjoying playing football and basketball. A loving father, son, and brother, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his three children: Laura Taylor, Kendra Maddox, and Joseph Jacobs; his brothers: David Maddox and Michael Maddox; his sisters: Karen Stafford, Tamara Maddox, and Deborah Wheeler; his grandchildren: Michaela Dellaselva, Aries Taylor, Gabriella Taylor, Kaiya Taylor, and Clayton Walker Rose; his uncles: Peter and David Garretson, and Tim Bristow; his aunts: Deborah Garretson and Patricia Bristow; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children.

Ronald was preceded in death by his identical twin sisters: Veronica Maddox and Dolores Martin; and his aunt and uncle: Robert and Cecilia McConchie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to his mother Betty Maddox, to be used for the education of his children.
