Mack, Tommie Obituary

Tommie Mack as born on August 1, 1944 to the late Susanna Gayle Mack and Garnett Mack in Chase City, VA and was educated in Mecklenburg County School System.  

 

Tommie spent his time in Chase City, VA and Washington, DC.  He would work with his Father on the lumber yard in Chase City.  He would also work in the Washington DC area with a moving company.

 

Tommie established a more stable career in the Washington, DC area Hotels under the Hotel and Restaurant Employee’s Local 25 AFL-CIO.  He retired from the Local 25 union in 1999.

 

In the early 50’s Tommie started exercising his abilities in entrepreneurship.  He could be found marketing all kinds of wood work and jewelry.  He also, ventured out with other type of hit items, socks, scarfs, gloves, stockings, etc.

 

After, he retired he found a new love in writing and sending family and friends samples of his writings.  He really enjoyed making children smile by sending them mail with and a small token of love.  He got a great joy of preparing his mailings and cataloging his writings.

 

Tommie was a faithful brother.  He was a devoted and loving uncle.  

 

Tommie is preceded in death by his siblings; Wray Mack, Garnett Mack, Louise Mack, Beatrice Johnson, Toyee Mack, and Roland Mack.

 

Tommie has gone on to his rest.  He leaves to cherish his memories his brother William Mack ; and three sisters-in-law, Bobbie Mack, Jean Mack, and Janice Mack, nieces; Rachel Mack, Brenda Braithwaite, Susan Walker , Mary Mack, Alice Chamberlaine, and Sharon Mack, nephews; Cornell Townes, Johnnie Beale, Howard Johnson, Ronald Mack, Jr., Lloyd Mack, Kevin Mack, and William Mack, Jr., great nieces; LaKisha Mendoza, Renee Braithwaite, Nicole Mack, Angela Mack-Lee, Tia Tinsley, Jessica Johnson, Tracee Chamberlaine, Anthony Walker, Tiffany Johnson, Aleece Palmer, Caitlin Beale, Cherelle Mack, Janie Mack,  Clydia Chamberlaine, Maya Wilkerson, Kara Chamberlaine, great nephews: Albert Mack, Jonathan Beale, Howard Johnson, Jr., and Isaiah Mack; great great nieces; Chava Mack, Kelliah Lee, and Serenity Mack, great great nephews; Jacob White, Joel White, Kevin Wilson and Clyde Palmer and host of cousins and friends.
