Betty T. Lockhart

Betty Thorne Lockhart, 76, of Warren County, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at the home of her daughter.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Bentonville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Betty was born on October 21, 1938 in Buena Vista, Rockbridge County, daughter of the late Hansford Henry Thorne and Nellie Ann Fitzgerald Thorne. She was previously married to the late M. Jackson Lockhart. Betty was a 1957 graduate of Warren County High School. Subsequently she graduated from the Winchester Beauty School and owned and operated her own salon, Curl and Swirl for many years. She received her CNA license from Lord Fairfax Community College, and went on to help many friends and family with her nursing knowledge. Betty retired from Boeing after many years of service. Betty will be long remembered for her love of life and being a friend to everyone. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

Surviving are a son Thomas J. Lockhart of Bentonville; and one daughter Teresa Lockhart Lamb and husband Bobby of Warren County.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Beverage, Lester Clatterbuck, Eric Magalis, Tom Wimer, Rob Seal, and Donnie Atwood.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 2 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
