Martha Greene Landrum, 83, of Laurel, Maryland, daughter of the late Maggie Drennan and John Norman Greene, passed on to eternal rest on July 19, 2016. Born and raised in Charlotte, NC on March 14, 1933, Martha graduated from Second Ward High School in 1951.  She later attended Johnson C. Smith University.

Seeking better opportunities, Martha moved to Washington, DC in [year] and attended Cortez Peters Business College and worked as a federal employee at the Pentagon for 18 years.  She was later employed at the University of Maryland.

Martha was a fun loving person and anyone who came in contact with her left beaming with smiles and adoration.  In addition to loving people, Martha loved sports, which began in high school where she was team captain and played forward of the women’s basketball team at Second Ward.  She was an avid football fan cheering for the Dallas Cowboys amid Redskin fans.  She was also a fabulous cook who fed friends, family and strangers.

Accepting Christ at an early age, Martha joined Weeping Willow AME Zion Church.  She later served as an Evangelist at St Mark’s United Methodist Church in Laurel, Maryland.

In addition to her parents Martha was preceded in death by six siblings.  Left to mourn and cherish the memories are her daughter, Lisa Landrum May (Bill), brothers, Paul Greene, Charlotte, NC; Charlie Greene (Helen), Oxon Hills, Maryland; sister, Ollie Kay Greene, Charlotte, NC.  She was also a loving mother to her nieces and nephews.
