Harry James Kline, 83, Circle Drive, Harrisonville, PA died at 9:00 AM, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at his home.
Born Octoher 18, 1935 in Licking Creek Township, Fulton County, he was the son of the late Walter Floyd and Beatrice Marie (Hill) Kline. He was married to Carolyn DeShong on June 25, 1994. Mrs. Kline survives at home.
Mr. Kline is survived by two daughters: Dawn Marie Taylor and husband Stephen, and Kathy Lyn Myers, both of Carlisle, PA.
Also surviving is a grandson Daniel Taylor and wife Ashley and their children, Bella, Shaina, Adriana, and Mya along with a granddaughter Hailey Myers.
Other survivors are an uncle, Ralph Kline, Chambersburg, a brother-in-law Elliott DeShong and wife Sandra, Chambersburg, and a nephew Darryn DeShong, Hunt Valley, MD. A sister Alice Reams preceded in death.
Mr. Kline was a member of the Knobsville Church of the Brethren.
A 1953 graduate of Green Hill High School, he went on to graduate from Penn State University in 1957 as an agriculture teacher. He taught at Bedford High School; Southern Fulton High School; Bohemia Manor High School, Chesapeake, MD; Cecil County Vo-Tech School in Maryland; and retired from the Chambersburg High School in 1987.
In 1972 he received the Honorary Keystone Farmer Degree and in 1980 the Honorary American Farmer Degree at the National FFA Convention in Kansas City, MO.
For 10 years Mr. Kline served as President of the Fulton County Chapter Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
He taught Sunday School for 15 years at Asbury United Methodist Church and was an active member of Gideon's International, Fulton County Chapter. He also served 40 years as a Hunter Safety Instructor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Knobsville Church of the Brethren, McConnellsburg, PA with Pastor Chris Elliott officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA. Friends may call at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA from 4-8:00 PM on Monday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
