Claire E. Kingsberg

On the morning of January 20, 2016, Claire Elaine (Schofield) Kingsberg passed away with her family at her side. She was 85 years old. Claire was born on July 20, 1930 in Norwood, Delaware Co., PA to Anna and Charles Schofield and was their only child. She graduated from Kane High School in McKean Co., PA and attended the University of Georgia. She married William James Kingsberg on September 1, 1955. They moved to West Chester, Chester Co., PA where they lived and raised their four children for 34 years. She is predeceased by her husband, Jim who died in March of 1993. She worked at the Pocopson Home, Chester Co., PA in the Activities Department for several years before retiring.
Upon retiring, Claire moved to Milford, Pike Co., PA to live near two of her daughters for the next 20 years or so. She enjoyed living in the rural area of Dingmans Ferry, PA with her little dog “Lady”. Claire was a creative and clever person who enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking cookies, quilting and spending time with her children and seven grandchildren. Claire was a good mother and wonderful grammie. She is survived by her four children, daughter Pamela and Morris Goldblatt of Wilmington, DE; daughter Claire and Thomas Mincer and three children, Elizabeth, Sarah and Thomas Jr. of Milford, PA; Son James and Cynthia Kingsberg and two children, Maddie and Matthew of Hawthorne Woods, IL and daughter Amy and David Garrison and two children, Sydney and Maya of Milford, PA.
A private gathering of her family to celebrate and remember her life will be planned at a later date.
