Harry K. Johnson

Harry K. "Fiddle" Johnson, 86, of North Valley Road, Wells Tannery, PA, died at 10:40 AM, Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Long Term Care Unit of the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Born July 5, 1928 at Wells Tannery, PA, he was a son of the late Levi & Kirk (Stunkard) Johnson. He was married to Wilma L. (Swope) Johnson  who preceded in death. He is survived by his companion, Catherine "Winnie" Newman of Waterfall, PA.

He is also survived by his daughter in law, Wanda Johnson of Wells Tannery, PA, three grandchildren, Heidi L. Roude and husband Vadim, Devin C. Horne and wife Mindy and Heather L. Horne-Perozo and husband Isayah, seven great grandchildren, Coral Roude, Emra Roude, Orion Roude, Camryn Horne, Tayah Perozo, Taliyah Perozo and Daniel Perozo and one brother, Richard Johnson of Wells Tannery, PA. One son, Robert Johnson, one daughter, Nancy L. Horne, one grandson, three brothers and two sisters preceded in death.

Mr Johnson was a member of the Wells Valley Presbyterian Church, Everett Lodge # 524, F. & A. M., Harrisburg Consistory and Jaffa Shrine. He had served on the board of directors of the Valley Rural Electric Coop for 22 years.

He retired in 1988 from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Roaring Spring, PA, after 22 years service.

Mr. Johnson enjoyed hunting and fishing all over, including in Wyoming and Canada. One of his favorite questions was, "Have you taken a kid fishing lately?"

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA with Rev. Richard Bernhard officiating. Interment will be made privately at Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery, RD, Wells Tannery, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co., P. O. Box 537, Hustontown, PA 17229, the Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery Association or to the Wells Valley Luminary Fund.
