Mr. Charles Horvath, formerly of Kearny and Lyndhurst, died on Monday. He was 81.
The funeral Mass will be offered in St. Michaels Church in Lyndhurst (map/directions) on Friday at 10 a.m. The interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery (map/directions). Relatives and friends may call on Thursday in the Condon Funeral Home 684 Kearny Avenue, Kearny (map/directions) from 4-8 p.m.
Mr. Horvath had been a mechanic with General Chemical in Newark until retiring. Prior to that he was a truck driver for the family business, Horvath Brothers Trucking, in Kearny for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Charles was predeceased by is wife, Emily (nee Krulik) and his daughter, Carol Cox. He is survived by his children, Charles (Debbie) Horvath, Cheryl Mango (Charles), Deborah A'Hara (Allen), John (Georgianna) Horvath, Dianne Somers (John), Laura Jewell (Dale) and George (Kathy) Horvath. Also surviving are his brother, Louis Horvath, and 15 grandchildren.
