Holland, Richard Obituary

Richard Eugene Holland, 72, of Front Royal, VA, passed into his eternity on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in Winchester, VA. 


A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal, VA. A reception will follow the service at the Front Royal United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. 


Mr. Holland was born May 30, 1943 in Washington, D.C., son of the late Stephen Henry Holland and Margaret Elizabeth Atkinson Holland.  He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and worked as an electronics technician in the medical field until his retirement. As a technician at Georgetown University Hospital in 1972, he helped build the world’s first whole body CAT scanner.   


His is survived by his devoted wife Marilyn Wiltshire Holland; two loving daughters, Donna Marie Holland and Miranda Elizabeth Holland, and four adoring grandchildren, Liam Allee, Gabraelle Allee, Cullen Allee, and Shae Allee, all of the home; loving brother Stephen Henry “Hank” Holland, Jr. of Front Royal; loving sister Ruthann Pisaretz of Fairfax, VA; nieces and nephews Dennis Jacobs of Delaware, Debi Renfrow of Illinois, Gregg Jacobs of Illinois, Chris Jacobs of Delaware, and Olivia Pisaretz of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and nine great nieces and nephews.
