Robert G. Holden

Robert G. Holden, 84, of Orbisonia, PA, died at 6:39 AM, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at his home.

Born November 16, 1929 at Hollidaysburg, PA, he was a son of the late John W. & Rosie (Friedenbloom) Holden. He was married to the former Shirley A. Crouse on January 10, 1972. Mrs. Holden survives at their home.

Also surviving are two sons, David G. Holden and wife Donna of Orbisonia, PA and Michael J. Holden and companion Melissa Houck of Kistler, PA, four granddaughters, eleven great grandchildren and one sister, Geraldine Church of Ohio. One brother and one sister preceded in death.

Mr. Holden attended the Pentecostal Freedom Church, RD, Mt. Union, PA. He was a member of the Orbisonia Lions Club, the Huntingdon County Fireman's Association and a life member of both the Orbisonia-Rockhill and Shade Gap Area Volunteer Fire Companies. At one time he was involved with the Fire Police.

He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA after 34 years service. After retirement he operated Bob's Lawn Care Services.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, Pa with Rev. George Rockwell officiating. Interment will be made at Haven Rest Memorial Park, RD, Shirleysburg, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
