Charles (Chuck) Carl Hibl, Sr., 73, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away Monday, October 19th 2015, at his daughter's home in Plainfield, NJ.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 120 West Main Street, Front Royal, VA, at 10:30 am, on Saturday October 24th, 2015. Internment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery, 12762 Lee Hwy, Washington, VA.

Charles was born on July 11th, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Carl Fredrick Hibl and Anna Magdalena (Bauer) Hibl.

Chuck was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a member of the U.S. Army from 1963-68. Chuck was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and later moved with his family to Virgina where he has lived for almost 50 years. He and his wife of 44 years, the late Phyllis Gehl Hibl, were leaders in the Catholic home-school movement. Chuck worked at Vint Hill Farms Station army base in Warrenton, VA for over 25 years, and later worked at Seton Home Study School in Front Royal, VA. Chuck was an active member of his Church family and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a founding member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Washington, Virginia where he sang in the choir and was a lector for many years. He loved to be with his children and grandchildren, and was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild. He was also an avid farmer and active supporter of 4-H in his community

Chuck was pre-deceased by his wife, Phyllis, his parents, his sister Connie Hibl and an infant brother Claude.

Chuck is survived by his eleven children and their spouses: Laura Clark and husband Kevin, Charles Hibl Jr. and wife Susan, Kathryn Price and husband James, Robin Hibl, Kristin Elliott and husband Jeff, Andrew Hibl and wife Heather, Elizabeth Davis and husband Shawn, all of Front Royal, VA,  Sarah Postiglione and husband Marc of Plainfield, NJ, Sr. Mary Rose Hibl of Princeville, IL, Emily Hibl, and Theresa Hibl, both of Front Royal, VA.

He is also survived by 46 grandchildren: Erin Haislmaier and husband Paul, Alex, Michael, Julia, Brendan, Magdalena, Lucia, and Matthew Clark; Amanda Schrider and husband Alex, Maria, Anthony, Bernadette, Mary-Claire, Regina, Christina, Theresa, Peter, Patricia, Benedict, Juliet and Charles III Hibl; Mary, Abigail, Sofia, Claudia, James, John, Thomas, and Samuel Price; Nicholas, Philomena, Genevieve, and Maximilian Elliott; Joseph, Halina, Gretel, Anna, Nathaniel, Mara, Andrew, and Paula Hibl; Therese, John-Lazarus, and Victor Davis; David and Clare Postiglione and one soon to be born great grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters Christine Ziegler of Neillsville, WI and Claudia Bojar of Glendale, WI

The family will receive visitors from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23rd at St. John's. The rosary will be recited at 7:30, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 8:45.
