Hershey, Glenn Obituary

E. Glenn Hershey, 85, formerly of Saltillo, Pennsylvania, went to be with Lord on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at AristaCare at Huntingdon Park, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.

Born on February 8, 1933 in Saltillo, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Howard and Emily (Drake) Hershey.  He was united in marriage to the former Hazel Campbell on March 30, 1956.  Mrs. Hershey survives at their home.

Mr. Hershey is survived three daughters and a son,  Karen DelBaggio and husband Patsy of Tyrone, Pennsylvania and Janine Goshorn and husband Kevin, Renee Houck and husband Scott and Aaron Hershey and companion Jessie Williams all of Saltillo, Pennsylvania, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.  Also surviving are a sister and brother,  Dorothy Shields of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and Gary Hershey and wife Joan of Three Springs, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Hershey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Saltillo.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

During his lifetime, he worked as a data entry clerk and retired from Gateway Foods, Inc., Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Hershey was a former member of the Saltillo Lions Club and SHC Football Boosters. He also spent several years as a councilman and later as Mayor of the Saltillo Boro Council.  Mr. Hershey was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 518, Rockhill Furnace, Pennsylvania.

Throughout the years, he thoroughly enjoyed attending sporting events and other activities that his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were involved in.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Saltillo, 7741 Oak Street, Saltillo, Pennsylvania with Rev. David Oldham officiating.  Interment will be made privately at Saltillo Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Saltillo, 7741 Oak St.,Saltillo, PA 17253.
