Hendrian, William Obituary

William E. Hendrian, 91, son of Frances and August Hendrian passed away on February 26, 2013 at Belle Reve Senior Living Center, Milford, PA. He was born in New York City in 1921 and graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 1939.

In WWII he served as a fighter pilot flying P-47’s and P-51’s from England and Belgium with the “Blue Noser”, 352nd Fighter Group. During two tours of 136 missions as flight leader he received 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses and 10 air medals.

In 1949 he received a B.A. degree in Industrial Arts from Millersville University and arrived in Milford to teach in the Delaware Valley School District for 34 years. While a teacher, he worked at assorted summer jobs including 10 years as a Technician with the Delaware Rivermaster’s Office and 20 years of teaching swimming.

Survivors include his daughter Linda Kay Hendrian of Milford, PA; son Thomas Hendrian and his wife Mari of Clarks Summit, PA.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
