Hart, Regina Obituary

Regina Ferebee Hart, 54, of Washington, D.C. passed away peacefully on July 20, 2013.  She was born in Norfolk, VA and lived there most of her life until moving to the Washington, D.C. area to be near her mother and siblings.  She received her early education in Norfolk Public Schools, graduating from Norview High School in 1977.  Later, she furthered her education by attending school to be a dental assistant.

Regina joined Refreshing Spring COGIC in 2012 under the leadership of Elder James E. Jordan, Jr., Pastor in Riverdale, MD.  As a young child, Regina joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA.  She was involved in all youth ministries including singing in the young adult choir.  Regina was an accomplished soloist.  The depth and breadth of her talent was untapped in so many ways.  She enjoyed all forms of music, yet, signing the melodious operatic sounds of Mahalia Jackson truly was her favorite.  The Family was favored to hear her beautiful voice at the eightieth birthday celebration of her grandmother, Ms. Alice Chatmon in Chesapeake, VA.

Regina was a trusted and devoted employee of International House of Pancakes for many years.  She enjoyed meeting new people and cultivating new friendships.  Her favorite place to be was at her second home attending AA meetings.  Regina was elected as one of Washington, D.C.’s Calvary Women Services most beloved overcoming women of faith.  Regina’s greatest accomplishment and testimony of God’s love and grace was seven completed years of sobriety.

Regina loved her family and friends.  She was raised by Mr. & Mrs. John Ferebee, Norfolk, VA who predeceased her in death.  She spent the last three years of her life being loved and cared for by her sister Ms. Davyonne Vick.  She leaves her only beloved son, Malcolm Hart, Jr., Norfolk, VA, her devoted mother, Jacklyn Moon, Fort Washington, MD; her only sister, Ms. Davyonne Vick, Washington, D.C.; and her three brothers, Billy White, Jr. (predeceased), Erik White, Waldorf, MD, Elijah White, La Plata, MD; her grandmother, Mrs. Alice Chapman, Chesapeake, VA and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
