Shirley Jane Grove, 80, Orbisonia, PA died Friday, July 7, 2017 at AristaCare at Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.

Born July 5, 1937 at McVeytown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Bilger) Boozel.  She was married to Wilmer L. Grove on May 22, 1953 at Hagerstown, MD.  Mr. Grove preceded in death on March 28, 2008.

Mrs. Grove met Wilmer and moved to Orbisonia at the age of 14.  Her greatest pride was in her children:  Bonnie Rose and husband Charles, Lavonne Brown and husband Darrell, Ralph Grove and wife Rachelle, Wilmer Grove and wife Tracy, Charles Grove and wife Christina, John Grove with whom she resided, Perry Grove and wife Jamie, all of  Orbisonia, PA; and Mary Park and husband Gary, Three Springs, PA.

There are 16 grandchildren; Melanie Woodward, Charles Rose III, Dustin Rodriquez, Allison Fickes, Jacob Grove, Michael Grove, Kyle Long, Autumn Lothes, Lewis Grove, Joshua Appleby, Christian Appleby, Justin Park, Caden Scott, Jalen Scott, Abigail Grove, and Myiah Grove along with 14
great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Grove was preceded in death by two sons, Thornton and Ronnie, along with a grandson, Scott Brown.

Five sisters survive: Mary Harshbarger and Freda Worthy, both of Mount Union, PA; Elsie Pollock and Thelma Miller, both of Newton Hamilton, PA; and Geraldine Keefer, Lewistown, PA.

There are two brothers Richard Boozel and Robert Boozel, both of McVeytown, PA.

Three sisters: Alice (Becky) Bollinger, Gladys Johnston and Stella Giusti and seven brothers: Albert, Bertis, Brooks, Foster, John, Lester, and Melvin Boozel preceded in death.

Mrs. Grove was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church where she was known as the “Candy Lady”.  She was also known as “Granny Grove” to numerous area children.  She was famous for her raisin filled cookies.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Orbisonia United Methodist Church, 613 Cromwell Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Ed Seeley officiating.
