Sandra Snyder Grove, 83, Shirleysburg, PA died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at UPMC, Altoona, PA.

Born September 4, 1934 in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Orin and Ethel (Snyder) Park.  She was married to R. Max Grove on September 14, 1952.  Mr. Grove survives of Orbisonia, PA.

She is survived by three sons: Ronald O. Grove and wife Trina, Pleasant Hall, PA; David S. Grove, Millersburg, Ohio; and Gregory A. Grove, Charlotte, NC.

Also surviving are three grandchildren: Rachel Grove, Sayre, PA; Jennifer Lucas, West Salem, Ohio; and Ben Grove, Columbus, Ohio along with two great grandchildren Jocelyn Lucas and Jacob Covert.

There are two sisters, Shirley Bollinger, Allenport, Mount Union, PA and Jane Hughes, Silverford Heights, Mount Union.

A grandson, Aaron Grove and two sisters Constance Jean Orth and Joyce Clippinger and a brother Orin Park are deceased.

A number of nieces and nephews also survive. 

Mrs. Grove was a graduate of Saltillo High School Class of 1952.  She played on the girl’s basketball team and earned the nickname “Spider”.

She worked at L. Greif Co., Mount Union, Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA and last at the Shirley Home, Shirleysburg, PA.

A volunteer for the Fort Shirley Heritage Days, she coordinated the Arts and Craft Show.

She loved her family and enjoyed cooking, baking, rug making, and crocheting.  She painted with oil and donated many of her works to the Heritage Days.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Julia Piper officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6—8:00 PM on Friday and one hour before the service on Saturday.
