Green, Mozelle Obituary

Mozelle Green, was born on September 23, 1934 in King and Queen County, Virginia to the late Mary and Irving Lee Washington.  Their oldest daughter. Mozelle was preceded in death by two of her brothers, the late Herman Washington and the late James Washington and a son, the late Norman S. Green, Jr.

Mozelle held several jobs throughout her life, with her most lengthy place of employment being the British Embassy in Washington, D.C., where she was a diligent , industrious and determined employee for well over 40 years before retiring.

Mozelle was an angel sent from heaven, with a smile that brightened your day and heart of gold, a heart so full of love it would fill any room.  Her real passion was for her family and friends, with whom she loved to visit and get visits from.  A cook like no other, Mozelle enjoyed having family over for dinner, especially during the holidays.  She could be totally funny and a little bit spicy, but most of all Mozelle was a graceful, soft-spoken and humble being.

Mozelle was one of the most caring and giving people you’d ever meet, as well as an excellent and devoted wife and mother who tremendously adored her family near and far.  She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories and continue her legacy, her loving husband of 55 years,    Norman Shelton Green, Sr., sister Kate Harvey, brothers Julius Washington and William Washington, daughters Ann, Clarissa and Darlene, son Marvin Green.  She will also be sorely missed by 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other loved ones.  Her spirit will live on in the hearts of many forever.
